Western Medicine likes to see the body as a collection of parts- breasts, ovaries, kidneys, prostate, etc, etc, etc. Even though there are therapies that will specifically address one "part" or system, the fact is that all health or dis-ease originates in the gut...and any modality directed at one system will not succeed without addressing underlying imbalances in the digestive system...
BTW, sure, you need iodine. All of us do:) It's the premier breast cancer-preventative, IMO, and in the opinion of the many women that have cured themselves of fibrocystic breast disease with Iodine supplementation.
