I have searched and searched and found very little. I have found that a lysine deficiency can cause a lowered thyroid function.
Over the last few months I have noticed a list of certain supplements that make me cold when I take them. I wish I knew why. It is driving me crazy.
The supplements that make me UNBEARABLY cold are: Chromium polynicotinate, phosphatidylserine, alpha lipoic acid, siberian eleuthero, silica - or diatomaceous earth, and I can't even seem to take hardly any Iodine anymore either.
I've also been getting sick more easily again.
So this last week I have been freezing and my glands have been swollen. I decide to take some lysine sort of spontaneously. The bottle says it supports immune health. And within about an hour I notice that I'm not freezing anymore. I am starting to warm up.
I took 6 pills of the lysine yesterday of 500 mg. My glands are no longer swollen and I feel much warmer.
What I really want to know is... Does Lysine increase thyroid function?
Or might anyone have some insight as to why I have such a strange reaction to these supplements?
