Thanks to everyone for all the good input. Lots of good juicers and lots of good and helpful advice. Since we are looking primarily to juice for health benefits, I think that the Omega vertical juicer may be the way to go. It is a bit pricier than I would like, but I found it for $70 off at Amazon ($330 total including no taxes and free shipping).

There is a HD model that costs $50 more, but with a 10 year warranty and lots of good input on the maker that model should work just fine. Great reviews both here and at Amazon, looks like it take a bit less slicing and dicing, the veggies and fruits feed in better and it gets just about every healthy drop out of even leafy green veggies and wheatgrass and such - all without destroying the vital enzymes. Well over an hour round trip to the nearest Whole Foods outlet and, when they open back up, farmers markets, but worth it.
Now it is time for Luella and I to really start walking the walk and take better care of ourselves instead of just talking the talk and trying to help others while neglecting our own health. I would say that we eat more healthily than probably 90% of the folks already, but there is still lots of room for improvement. Taking time to get the physical activity and helpful exercises is another matter altogether. We aren't in the couch potato category, but we have been far below where we should be.
If we don't take care of ourselves from a diet and fitness standpoint, as well as emotionally and yes, financial standpoint too, our time helping others will be reduced anyway and maybe sooner than later. So now the journey begins in earnest.
Thanks again!
