people don't really like to hear this, buuuuuut ....
It sounds like your situation is not that bad. When I was feeling the way you describe I was prescribed celexa at 20mg and I took it. After 3 months I felt like my old self and quit the medication. Well, my symptoms slowly came back and here I am now.
After talking with a lot of people, 2.5-5mg lexapro seems like the absolutely best way to go with an ssri.
ssri's positives: help improve gut performance, raises killer T cells in body, positively effects immune system, can put causes of anxiety and Depression into remission
negatives: Slightly blunts emotionality, too high of a dosage can cause paradoxical increase in anxiety and can lead to self harm, starting with low dosages can alleviate this.
If I could go back in time, I would have kept taking the citalopram, except just lowered the dosage to 10mg for maintenance.
