Au contrare! Perhaps the guilt and self-recrimination IS more damaging than the ingesting of said "wrong thing". As much as I have changed my ways I cannot make myself and others around me crazy with misplaced paranoia over, let's say, drinking coffee made with tap water at a social gathering, when in my daily life I drink R.O. water with DE!! I agree that making peace with a piece of chocolate is less harmful than eating a chocolate bar with no joy, plagued with fear and shame. Those negative associations are far more powerful than flouride or theobromine, imho.
