Sorry to hear about your mental and emotional condition. Here is some info I found when putting in "niacin" in the search window on this forum. You´ll find a lot more. But the following post is what I was originally looking for, in the hopes it may be of some help. This is the answer a poster called Insight gave to someone asking for help for his schizophrenic brother.
....."Niacin" is the wrong form of the substance he should take. It's "niacinamide", or even better, "Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide" (NAD). This in combination with Vitamin C, B6, etc, usually in mega-dose amounts (2000mg+)
Rather than experimenting on your own, especially because of the severity, I suggest you try to get him to an ORTHOMOLECULAR psychiatrist, or at least read up on Dr. Abram Hoffer's work and protocol.
Good luck.

niacin or niacinamide? by #102572 30 mon 1,196 I thought Hoffer said either would work?
Re: niacin or niacinamide? by Insight 30 mon 2,183 Niacin, niacinamide, and NAD all do work, because they are all ultimately the same thing. I say NAD because it had positive effects much quicker than the niacin/niacinamide forms, in some people.
