By all means, give it a try if you like. I would be extremely reluctant to do it myself, but I'm willing to listen to other people's experience with it before I reject it.

I should point out that, in the beginning, I was advised by an "expert" alternative practitioner that the best way to deal with yeast is to do a cleansing with a number of liquid herbs she sold to me for more than $100. They included liver, kidney and bowel cleansing mixtures and instructions to fast.

I followed her instructions to the letter. After doing the cleansings for 2 weeks, I noticed my symptoms were getting worse and not in a die-off kind of way. It was much more like a feeding the yeast reaction. I definitely didn't feel any better after I was finished with what she told me to do. I couldn't understand it. Then I read the small print on the bottles and realized that all of the solutions had alcohol in them. I believe the alcohol was feeding the yeast while they were supposed to be helping me get rid of it.

I tell this story to point out that we really need to be skeptical, even of the so-called experts. I think we shouldn't necessarily be cynical, but it seems like "experts" don't always seem to know what they're talking about. I'm especially skeptical when the experts' advice goes against my own experience.

Just consider how many medical experts reject the idea that ordinary people can have a yeast problem...
