I agree, a speaker of the week would be a excellent addition, it would add a lot of interest to the CZ, and making a user friendly home page is also a fantastic idea.

I actually found CZ after googling a particular health problem I was having, and followed the google link, which took me straight to the forum I was interested in. This works well, and I imagine this is how many people come across CZ.

The Debate Forums are not the default, it is the Support Forums that are the default, so I don't know if this would need changing.

There are a lot of forums that could be decommissioned, any that haven't seen traffic for more than a year or two. This would pare it down a little. People can still search the archives if they are interested, so it wouldn't be a great loss.

Personally, I think the Debate Forums could be rolled into one general debate forum, easier to moderate, and if people want to behave in an uncivil manner, they could simply go and behave badly in one place, rather than all over CZ.

People do have strong opinions, but that is no excuse to treat others badly, no matter what the subject matter.

There are really only a very few people on CZ that behave in a manner that is detrimental to the website, most people are civil and have great information to share.

A welcome page for newbies, what a good idea B&G, a friendly welcome, with some posting guidelines, and general behaviour guidelines, would make misunderstandings, a thing of the past. A bit of the history on the welcome page, and maybe a photo of a smiling Dushan, would also be great.

I hope Dushan looks at some of your suggestions, and those of others, after all, this is what this forum is for :)
