Hmmm, yes it does seem similar. I have always been very quiet and "shy" since I was born. I do have strong interests in art, drawing and painting, and natural hygiene, vegetarian and vegan diets. I don't talk much to people about it cause they don't seem to really care and get bored. Or I get the "you need to eat meat for protein". lecture.
On the other hand I get bored when people talk a lot about their relationships with other people and cute guys. Women are suppose to be good with or into relationships and I'm not. I try to act interested but people will pick up easily on my disinterest. And there are times I think I am being "very social" and people will tell me to "open up" and talk more. Which is confusing cause I thought I was doing a good job at being social. I've gotten better at making small talk but don't get far beyond that.
My dad is very technical and has some autistic/aspergers traits. He is a self-taught engineer. He would try to build life sized flying saucers but never succeeded in finishing them.
