You can, but I think it is riskier. The magnesium citrate doesn't seem to dialate my bile ducts as well (no scientific evidence, just less discomfort with the epsom salt). Also the purging action of the Epsom Salt helps get the toxins out quickly so the reabsorbtion is minimal.
