well, 12 very well might, I would imagine! :-)
Even four... (I have one, now grown)

This is a bit of an aside, but apparently, a mother who may be somewhat adrenally-exhausted can during the latter part of a pregnancy, suddenly feel a lot better. It's at aprox the third trimester that the fetus's adrenal glands start to function, and might actually be 'donating' energy to the mother. For me, the thought of that is so poignant... What can happen with some babies then, is that they would be born already in adrenal deficit.

i would think, given the less than 'ideal' world we inhabit, it's quite likely many of us were born somewhat adrenally-compromised. (I have a sense I was)

I'm not an expert on any of this, just a student -- of 29, 21 days on water and a few shorter ones in between those two of 11, 6, 3 or thereabouts days, I don't really keep track now. I am soon to undertake another longish one: what I think of now as my spring wf. 14-21 days or however it feels right.

I don't feel these water fasts have harmed me--or compromised my adrenals. I also have a slight kidney issue in that one stopped growing quite young, and was half the size of the other last time it was checked.

I'm pretty sure the wfs have improved most everything. ( and a bunch of things that I will probably never know of--since so much "housecleaning" goes on that is never noticed. :-) I would not let those ideas work away on eroding my peace of mind, if I were you. The most powerful part of the water fast, besides letting the body do its thing is to have a good mindset. As they say, fear is almost the only contraindication to a water fast. I am very glad I did not read all the opinions going around out there, but kept to reading the masters, and referring back to that literature.

But it does take being very careful with replenishing the mineral reserves, after a water fast, and before any further water fasts. And it would be ideal to be very prepared with lots of high-density good nutrition before, but many of us were only fifty-fifty on board with that.

And then eating well, and doing all the other things that help, such as getting adequate rest (might be hard with four children!)

those are my views, if that helps at all..

C

Is this your firs wf?
