Hi David,
Top doctors in yeast syndrome that I've seen agreed that after 6 months fungus is still there and it is not unusual. I know this because if I increase teh dose of antifungals after 6 months I enter a new phase of die-off. They see this very frequently. Problem is our immune system is not fighting fungus. Long term antifungal therapy is required to allow immune system to loose tolerance to fungus. May take from 18 months to 3 years. You have to continue treatment long time after feeling well. We are immune deficient people but over time slowly we can recover. Eating carbs or not taking antifungals daily will almost certainly result in impossible healing for a majority of individuals. Candidatoxins are the main culprit in bringing immune tolerance. This doesn't mean there is no other factor at play. But candidatoxins are sufficient in achieving this.
I know by myself. If I eat brown rice or buckwheat, or yams, I enter a state of perpetual die-off and it becomes hell to take antifungals. I see no progress at all. I have various gut and mental symptoms. The worst thing to do for me is to take carbs with antifungals. This is what to do to feel bad 24 hours a day.
No, I won't pass the organix dysbiosis. I am convinced chronic candidiasis is the problem. I've been diagnosed by Dr Trowbridge and Dr Galland. They are 100% sure it is the problem according to my history even if my test shows 0 yeast. They don't care about testing because they know this disease is not a matter of yeast quantity you have in your body but more a matter of how you react to it. Normal people will show higer value than you for this test. Problem is not quantity of yeast or fungus but damages done on your immune system and on your body system due to a state of immune tolerance to fungus that you acquired after a previous yeast infection.
You have to keep yeast close to 0 for long time to allow immune function to break tolerance. We can't tolerate same amount of yeast usual people are able to tolerate. We have to stay under antifungal therapy for long time and no carb diet. All md I met are really clear on these 2 things.
I can't chelate at the moment because each time I try to chelate my yeast infection come back full blown and it takes me 2 months to get it under control. Knowledgeable doctors advice me not chelate until gut is under control which may take long time.
Now I am on 25 millions unit nystatin powder a day, 4 pills of AMB (250 mg), 2 (100mg) itraconazole, dysbioplex(transfer factors), Igg 2000, magnesium, zinc, high dose vitamin C, thymus extract, high dose vitamin C, leaky gut supplementation.
We are heading in the good direction.
The pattern is: We feel better on antifungals, then we quickly reach a plateau. We have to continue even if we feel we have reach a plateau. Continue for long time. I know there is a lot of up and down. It is really easy to stop treatment when we face a up because we think we are so well that we don't need to follow a strict protocol and we can have a bowl of rice. It is also really easy to stop treatment when we face a down because we don't realize that candidatoxins are the real culprit. Someone should continue treatment over years, expect to feel better in matter of months but never expect to be cured too quickly. It takes time for immune system to reset and B-cell to start again to work properly towards antigens. Strict diet alone doesn't work. Antifungals blast alone doesn't work either.
