Good idea with the screen too! We have alot of cottontail rabbits I need to protect it from too.
In a few months, we'll have an entire field of wheat grass that will be about 8 inches tall..but it will only last about a week at that stage.

geni1..we had a sprouter given to us as a gift, and have never used it :( I didn't like reading about the fungus/mold that can go with it.
