Just wondering if there is anything specific I could try whether topical for instant relief or internal to address an actual cause? I've been putting a bit of diluted vinegar on them in case it's a PH thing (also relieves the itch a bit), as well as this polysporin anti itch gel. I'm going to try soaking them in some licorice root water tonight seeing as the search results I had come up with mostly recommended some steroidal creams.

Without seeing the skin it would be hard to say.  It could even be little staph blisters, which are pretty common.  This can occur with things like frequent hand washing, which can crack the skin allowing the bacteria to get in and thrive.

Acids are a good start.  Vinegar is kind of smelly, so you can use citric acid or malic acid in its place.  And make sure to keep the skin from drying out from frequent hand washing.  After applying the acid rub in a little avocado oil in to the skin. You can also add a little essential oil to the avocado oil.  Palmarosa essential oil is especially good for helping with skin health.  If you add this I recommend 40 drops of the essential oil to 16 ounces of avocado oil.
