Hi Keri,
Welcome to the forum! It sounds like your adrenal glands were already weak from your lifestyle and perhaps other factors, and possibly mold in your apartment and the sushi were the straws that broke the camel's back, as they say.
Just wanted to say your story sounds like mine, as far as diet and nutrition. I too ate very little, worked out a lot, survived on coffee and had a stressful life, always going. A few other factors then made me crash and get AF. I was living and working in NYC when I first got AF and stayed in the city for the first year and a half. I understand what you say about getting dizzy and not wanting to get on the trains, and having to take a car/cab!! I also had crashes and panic attacks around 7 every night when I first got AF.

There's great advice on this forum... stick around! :) I'm still trying to figure it all out. Just be sure to have some kind of food on you at all times... sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between a hypoglycemic event and anxiety. In either case, eating something with salt should be helpful. And yes, it is common for some of us to loose a lot of weight in the beginning with AF. I lost 20 lbs in the beginning.

Have your doctors checked your thyroid levels? When your adrenals become weak, your thyroid takes the brunt of it. Symptoms of being hyperthyroid include weight loss, nausea, shaking, and panic attacks. I was initially hyperthryoid when I first got AF, and then my TSH stabilized. I don't want to diagnose you, but just throwing that out there. :)
