I had eaten raw meat before and I really did find it VERY energizing. However, the situation you described, as well as parasite issues, are what prevent me from doing this on a regular basis
The thing about food borne pathogens is they usually like a pH somewhere in the neutral area. What they don't like is very acidic pH
To combat food poisoning when you want to do is lower your pH. Apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, vitamin C, cayenne pepper, etc. those are your best weapons against food poisoning
One thing I did when I was eating raw meat that really helped was that I made a anti- parasite anti-pathogen marinade. Basically consisted of apple cider vinegar as the base, with crushed garlic cloves, lemon juice, cayenne pepper, and ginger. I know I added some other things but I can't remember everything I added to it at the moment.
I would cut up the meat into thin strips and place it into a dish and pour this over the raw meat. Then I would just take out a few strips at a time whenever I was hungry
