Molly,
My way is to phone up whoever is running a local 'organic' growers' association.
Organic growers need each other's support.
Some are profit-motivated more than others. Let whoever you contact tell YOU what they are up to. Just make wise sounds/murmurs.
...Make up your own mind later.
I found one grower's idea of 'no-till' to be to spread a mixture of chemicals on the growing soil, and let the rain wash it in. --Idiot.
Volunteer some time, when a grower you like really needs you.
One could also join a largish gardening club, and watch who is smart.
Organic growers could rent themselves out for a small donation...to stroll through people's gardens...to identify things, soil conditions, and so on.
:)
Love.
