My biggest concern related to the drops is could they, all along, been causing a problem (= stomach issues) rather than helping? I thought especially if they were too strong for him, it could really be a problem.

It is hard to say.  If the pain started when you started the drops or shortly afterward then there could be a connection.

How much coleus forskohlii coleus forskohlii would he take before meals? And, I assume you mean powder form unless you say otherwise.

Coleus is nasty tasting so you may want to use capsules instead.  One capsule 15-20 minutes before meals is recommended.
