Could you try soaking in a tub with IO added to it? ...the reason I mention this is because I had this really bad flu/cold that was making my skin red and peely and awful blotchy but after soaking my face in the distilled water and IO and bathing in a tub loaded with IO, my skin looks loads better just in one day.
