J,
At this point, I'd wait to see the results of the pain block...and then take it from there.
When someone desires to die (or they simply desire to not fight any longer), this is their life and their choice (and I feel very strongly that we should respect their choice)...but when they are in extreme pain, it may or may not be 'truly them' that is saying the words.
If the block is successful and he wants to cure his cancer naturally, it's going to be an "every waking hour" thing, as far as treatment, protocols and food/juice/diet is concerned. You'll have time to determine whether or not he chooses to "fight the good fight" after the pain is gone...when you can really talk to "him", and not the pain.
If he chooses to die soon, you're in the best and most capable hands in the world with Hospice. They will help you to accept his decisions AND make sure that his transformation is peaceful and without pain.
Blessings,
Unyquity
