I do give him iodine, 2 drops in his water bowl. I've been giving him CS for his fatty tumours, they have reduced in size, but have not gone completely.

Its very very hot today, so I will be setting up the paddle pool for him, to cool him down, he, like me, does not like the hot weather.

I also give my old fellow fish oil, or fresh fish, which ever I have, and this seems to help him a lot.

Have you tried warm water physio with you old guy? It worked wonders for my fellow, after he had a stroke last January. (he is fully recovered, no paralysis at all).
