Periods 3 weeks apart or closer. Is this normal? I thought hormones were supposed to regulate your periods. Here my history:
Started having night sweats and mild hot flashes 4-5 years ago. Not bad enough to mention to OBGYN. Was on birth control pills from age 20-40. Was tested and diagnosed to definitely be in menopause in April of this year as I turned 42. I was also diagnosed with uterine fibroids which were causing a lot of pain during intercourse. Since getting off birth control by periods only came every other month and were very light and short. Since taking hormones my hot flashes that had become severe and night sweats have disappeared as well as the pain I was having with intercourse. However, now my periods are every 3 weeks or better. Here is my calendar:
6/12
7/5
7/25
8/24
9/12
10/7
11/2
11/21
12/10
12/30
They last 7 days plus now and are heavy. I always spot between them. I never really stopped this last time. I started on 12/10 and lasted a good 10 days then it slowed but never completely stopped then today started heavier again. It’s driving me crazy. I have to wear panty liners all the time now. I noticed a few times recently while having intercourse the same pain I had before with the fibroids but not as bad – but in same location. Content to see if this continues but not content with these crazy periods. I thought hormones were supposed to regulate you. I'm currently taking medroxyprogesterone 2.5 mg. and Estradiol 1 mg. Is this normal? Should I schedule an OBGYN visit?
Thanks!
