Ahr wrote the post below about this.
Chronic Inflamation is defintely our issue. I think more on the autoimmune side of inflamation therefore ordinary steroids do not work that well for the cell proliferation part of this disease. I belive this is a Psoriasis OR a mild chrons/ulcerative colitis manifested in our lips.
64643 came up with a great find, melatonin, and this is useful for both these conditions.
Melatonin is anti proliferative, cytokine blocker. I posted that link.
Ulcerative Colitis/Chrons
Melatonin and DMSO, and reservatrol are good tries.
They are all prevent cell proliferation, and battle inflamation.
The first 2 especially treat ulcerative colitis/chrons . Its geared towards the thought that the lips are part of the digestive system, what we have is autoimmune condition, and something we have digested has exacerbated this condition just like it would in chrons and ulcerative colitis. Please look at the following link and remember this.....
The lips are part of the diestive system. Many of us feel our EC was caused by something we ate. In ulcerative/colitis and chrons something you eat
triggers the condtion and steroids don't really help.
And in the following link you will see 2 cures, one of them is melatonin which has helped many of us and the other is DMSO. So it stands to reason that we have this disease manfiested on our lips (which is known to occur).

I want to add that Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is marked by inflammation and can occur anywhere from the lips to the anus.
The disease manifests itself in the mucosa. Changes at that level lead to the inflammation and ulceration that in turn cause a disturbance in the absorption of salt and water. The malabsorption of the water leads to diarrhea; damage to the mucosa can also lead to excessive amounts of mucous in the fecal matter. The ulcerations cause bleeding, which can lead to anemia. Abdominal pain, fever, fatigue, loss of appetite and weight loss often accompany the disease as well.
