I think perhaps the primary goal here was to iterate dreams so as to stop shamefully ignoring them and offer them acknowledgment with the knowledge of never knowing.

i.e. Writing it down helps it to re-organize itself in a more constructive manner, while simultaneously offering opportunity for outside input which can be equally constructive.
