Supporting the liver would be my first suggestion.  Again the liver both synthesizes cholesterol and it breaks it down.  So the liver must be functioning properly to maintain a proper cholesterol level.  Liver supporting herbs include milk thistle seed, turmeric, schisandra berry, licorice root, artichoke leaf, dandelion root and leaf and nettle leaf.

Foods high in cholesterol such as chicken livers or beef liver will also help.
