 so would cholesterol lowering lecithin be wise or unwise? especially if not taking it to lower cholesterol...

Lecithin has so many benefits that it is great to take as long as the person is not allergic and they do not have hormonal issues from it.  Even though it lowers cholesterol the liver will produce more cholesterol if levels are too low and everything else is working alright.

No, these are completely different things.
