Hello #136559,

Please note that the Lubbers study with humans was done with chlorine dioxide (not acidified sodium chlorite or chlorous acid which is what Miracle-Mineral-Supplement is all about) at a concentration of 5 PPM over a period of 12 weeks. During that time the people drinking the water with chlorine dioxide in it experienced no adverse effects.

When you add chlorine dioxide to water it does not change the PH of the water. When you mix up a dose of Miracle-Mineral-Supplement , you end up with an acid. Pick up some PH paper and check this out for yourself.

Also, the concentrations used in the Miracle-Mineral-Supplement protocol are much higher than the 5 PPM used in the Lubbers study. For example, a 3 drop dose of MMS following the MMS protocol has a concentration of about 190 PPM. Saying that a concentration of 5 PPM has been proven to be safe so a concentration of 190 PPM must also be safe is NOT a valid statement.

There are no studies involving humans drinking chlorous acid (MMS).

The dangerous aspect of MMS has to do with chlorites. Chlorites have a half life in the body of a little over 40 hours. About 70% of the chlorine dioxide converts to chlorite, so when you are taking high concentrations you are subjecting your body to a lot of oxidative stress through chlorites. Drinking water disinfection is limited to using a concentration of 2 PPM because of the concern over chlorites.

Yes, drinking water is disinfected using a concentration of 2 PPM chlorine dioxide. Does this mean that it is safe to drink a concentration of 190 PPM?

Tom
