If you have an infection, and there is pus involved. The doctor should be able to take a sample of the pus, and send it to pathology.

At the pathology lab, they do various tests, including seeing what grows from the pus.

They can then test the samples they have grown with various Antibiotics , and see which kills it and which doesn't.

They can then prescribe an Antibiotic which works. It should not be guess work.

The problem with MRSA, is that no Antibiotics work.
