Too true and they didn't have fast food restaurants on nearly every corner either.

They also didn't have the rampant coffee addiction that we see nowadays, with many people unable to get through their day without stopping at the local coffee shop on their way to work.

Where I live, the lineup at the coffee shop drive-thru causes traffic jams because the lineup overflows into the street.
