Im writing this in hopes someone might be able to share some knowledge with me. Im 22 year sold with horrible prematured skin. As of this morning I walked into the bathroom and am noticing skin from under my lower lip to chin is stretching back diagonally from the underneath the lip towards my cheek/jaw line. I have no idea why this is happening and I have extensive wrinkles forming on my cheeks. I dont understand why this is happening at such a young age and it is pretty disheartening because I can only imagine if my skin is this bad now how will it be 10 years from now? Ive dealt with horrible acne for a long long time and im sure that and sun damage has totally ravaged my skin. I was so uninformed at a young age. I know its hard to reverse these effects or if at all possible. But if anyone could share some info with me that would be absolutely awesome. Thanks!

Also if anyone could recommend a good vegan face lotion that would be awesome. I had been using theraneem organics but i noticed it contained soy and want to stray away from that. Thanks again.

First of all wrinkles are best treated internally.  Wrinkles result from a loss of elastin in the skin, which causes the skin to stretch and sag forming the wrinkles.  Elastin formation requires a variety of nutrients, but the most common deficiencies leading to wrinkle formation are silica and vitamin C.

The best way to get silica is by adding food grade diatomaceous earth to water. Here is a whole thread on the subject:

Good herbal sources include nettle leaf, oatstraw, bamboo and seaweeds.  Avoid horsetail grass (shavegrass) due to its nicotine content.

For vitamin C natural sources are the best:

It will also help to stay hydrated with mineralized water such as spring water.  And avoid stimulants including caffeine and nicotine, and keep your stress to a minimum.  These tax the adrenal glands reducing vitamin C levels available for skin collagen and elastin.

If you stress out easily build up your adrenal glands, which help control our stress responses:

As for soy, soy is not bad.  It contains phytoestrogens, as most plants we consume do, that are beneficial to the hormones, skin, bone, etc.  I know some people freak when they see the word phytoestrogen.  But flax seeds, which are considered healthy are over twice in high in phytoestrogens than soy, and are more goitrogenic.  Funny how we don't see a bunch of false propaganda sites bashing flax seeds like they do soy.
