There are other issues with chelating for longer periods, particularly with ALA. It reduces copper excretion for one thing so you could become copper toxic.

The schedule you mentioned is probably fine for DMSA but you should generally have at least as much time off as you do on with ALA.

What dosages are you on? It is quite unusal not to have any side effects from ALA. Or was this just a hypothetical question?
