The benefit of calcium carbonate would only be short term in duration. I believe calcium carbonate would make the formula more agreeable for individuals who have acid reflux in addition to their other symptoms.

Their may be a more advance reason but this seems like a practical explanation.

Sort of like “a teaspoon of honey helps the medicine go down”!

If someone has a better understanding please explain.
