I think all hormonal bc will affect your thyroid because all hormones affect one another. I've tried depo like you and also pills and the patch. I felt the least crappy on pills but got pregnant while using them. Im not sure if IUD's are non hormonal or not maybe check those out and then there's always the diaphragm. Sorry I can't help more but my husband is fixed so it has been a while since I worried about it.
