Just trying to take this story at face value. To qualify this a bit more, I have not stayed on top of this story so am admittedly not up to speed on the attendant news and or hype. Be this as it may, I am a bit skeptical of both sides to this.

On the one hand, we are to believe that these "confidential documents" were gotten hold of by a Private who previously worked in one of the military's intel departments. Is it reasonable to accept that a rank Private had access to alla these confidential goodies? Also, I've heard/seen some of MSM's reporting on this, mostly which involved MSM reporting what was ostensibly the USG's reaction to being outed by Wikileaks. For instance, MSM claims USG is outraged and claims that anyone ( such as the man supposedly behind Wikileaks) who would " leak " such info constitutes criminal behavior. But when you consider that some of the info contained in the first leak ( a month or so ago) was USG attempting to cover up some of its dirty deeds ( such as body counts for the ongoing wars in middle east ) is this not the equivalent of a criminal ( criminal A) alledging that some other criminal ( criminal B ) is outing criminal A?... how credible is that, really?

On the other hand, I am also skeptical that this Wikileaks and it's operator are on the up and up. On this count I agree with the suggestion that this is really about making USG look less dirty - for the vast uninformed majority
" masses" - than it is already known to be by the informed minority.
