Are you taking a vitamin C supplement? Whenever I get a mouth ulcer, i put a bit of vitamin c crystals on a wet q-tip and then apply to the sore. I try to keep it there for as long as I can..it stings like heck and it is really, really sour. I then spit it out and rinse my mouth. It usually helps the pain by at least 80% and if it still hurts the next day, I do it again. By about 3-4 days, the mouth ulcer is healed.

You might be deficient in vitamin C.
