I'm also a big rose fan, I have quite a few, but I grow them all in pots, because I live right across from the beach, so beach sand is what I have, and roses are hungry plants. I have them all on drippers, that way you don't get problems with powdery mildew, or black spot, (well not as much anyway), and there is no water wastage.

You can also use green potato skins, or the leaves of potato plants, to make the same spray, (if you don't have tomato leaves available).

You can also use the leaves of the Pepino as well, the leaves contain the same alkaloids as tomato and potato leaves. It has a really delicious fruit, and are very easy to grow. I will be harvesting the first fruits, of my plants, very soon.

lol, I'm also trying upside down tomato planters this year, they are doing well so far. I have put button squash plants in the upside down planter as well, it will be interesting to see how this goes.
