If you still have the Silver Puppy, I would think that should do just fine for your kitty (and yourself too).  I am not sure how the design may have changed from "several years ago", but the Silver Puppy of today is one of the best home silver generators to be found.

My personal choice for most bang for the bucks is the Utopia Silver Silver Bullet.  It is a no frills unit whose higher voltage (48 watts) generator produces more true colloidal silver (about 25 to 30 percent colloidal silver and 70 to 75 percent ionic silver) than most other home generators.  It does not contain some features such as a clamshell cover and automatic stirrer some of the popular but pricier units have, but you can get a complete kit including timer, tester, etc. for not much more than $100 if you use the CZ discount code (LR001).  An added bonus is that when you buy the kit you also get a lifetime buy-one, get-one free offer on the 8 ounce bottles of the really good stuff (their commercial colloidal silver).  I agree with you that commercial colloidal silver is pricey, but I think that if a person wants to have the best of both worlds and have both a home machine that makes a very good home silver solution and some of the best colloidal silver to be found just in case something really tough comes along, that would be a good way to go.

Don't know about that "pro" label, but thanks.  If you have me in your grip, don't squeeze too hard - I am still a bit full from the leftover pasta, chicken, carrots, zuchinni, yellow squash, garlic and brocolli dish Luella made for Thanksgiving.
