This is the main crux of the debate as far as Im concerned! I am not out to return to archaic laws banning abortion completely ,but to place forth and not suppress the realities of what is about to take place ! To say no one has any regrets or misgivings of their uninformed choice is one sided and unjust! To say religion is the basis of those who oppose abortion is also dismissive to those who oppose abortion and have considered all sides of the issue or delved onto their own conscience to come to their own conclusions without authoritarian influences or popular consent!
The moral question in my mind begs the question, should we not bring compassion to others and should we not consider the concept of not only doing onto others what we would have them do onto us but to do for others more then we do for ourselves! Should sacrificing for our children be less valued then the values we place our own personal agenda or convenience ? And if we do feel that our own goal will be compromised by the inconvenience of raising children should we not use preventative measures including not only contraception but abstinence until the situation changes!
How many of us can honestly claim they would have preferred being aborted then to be offered the great potential life has to offer them!
