I'm in the UK and my doctor was very rude to me. I spent two and a half years going back and forth to the doctor, hospital and neurologist with a variety of extreme side effects. No-one made the connection to the Mirena. It was only when I started my own research on sites like this that I realised it could be responsible. I immediately made an appointment to have it removed by a nurse at my health centre.
The following week after many of my side effects had either disappeared or started to subside I made an appointment to see the doctor who'd fitted it.
I wasn't planning to make a big deal- just inform her of my situation,get a print-out of all my appointments and ask her to report the Mirena to the licensing authority here. As soon as I started speaking to her she ordered me out of her room saying she "didn't have time" to discuss the matter with me then, I'd have to wait in the waiting room for over and hour for the surgery to end!! Which I did.
When I returned she dismissed my concerns about the Mirena and said if I wanted a print-out of appointments I'd have to pay the £1 cost of printing- how petty! She did offer to send off the form I had reporting my adverse reaction to the British National Formulary, but I didn't trust her and got the chemist to do it instead.
