Hey Waverly,
I've been raw Vegan since 9/26/10. Here's the advice I would follow
//www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=725390
I've been to one Raw meetup potluck dinner and heard experiences from other Raw Vegans and I've seen various rates and overall progress. I would say the idea is not to just eat all raw foods, you have to listen to your body. As you cut out cooked foods you'll be able to be in touch with your intuition again and following that intuition will lead you to health.
I've come to believe that eating cooked food is actually an addiction that is linked to repressed anger. The anger itself is toxic to your body and it's something you need to make peace with. Someone who goes raw vegan and still craves cooked food is showing signs that they are not at the level of peace of someone who is raw vegan and just eats the raw fruits and vegetables that their body tells them to.
The info is all there, all the other specifics are really determined by your body. You need to learn to listen to your body, every person is different and there's no way around listening to your body. No one else can provide you with that information.
As you can see I'm kind of avoiding talking about other people's raw experiences because I don't think they matter to me that much. I'm not going to eat what someone else does and i'm just going to listen to my body. First off, some of these raw vegans out there are doing it for what they think are ethical reasons, second you really can't trust everyone on the internet anyway. So while they may have some great information, they will also have poor and inaccurate information so if I trust them, I will eventually have to spend my time determining which parts of their story to trust and which parts not to. And I don't mean to say they have ill intent, I mean to say they are unaware of their own inner insecurities and how they manifest themselves causing them to do certain things which are wrong. Many people feel so attached to the role of the victim, they are simply unwilling to see the light. Others have so much pride and arrogance they think of Raw Vegan as an exclusive club, so while they do get a lot of the benefits of eating this way, I do not consider them true Raw Vegans. They are simply Raw Food Elitists who are healthy but get a lot of their enjoyment from rubbing other people's unhealthy ways in their faces not realizing they are indulging in the same thing.
Some scientific points that I do think are pertinent is that most produce today is very poor. Even organic produce at whole foods is not great. Farmers markets usually provide better produce. Interestingly a problem I've come across now is a lot of time the most nutrient dense produce I can find is sprayed with pesticides, this is weird for me because the NPN (Non protein nitrogen, the substance that is TOXIC for you in poor produce) is at its lowest in these foods, but then the pesticides cause me other discomforts so it's hard for me to choose which to eat. Also pay attention to your pH, you can measure the pH of your saliva and urine first thing in the morning, it will likely be too acidic and you want it to reach around 7.0. You can also check both these things after you eat to see how you reacted. Saliva should become basic and urine should stay neutral I believe.
But really all those things are just shortcuts for if you can't listen to your body. Meditation really helps in this aspect. Also consider taking morning sole (water saturated with himalayan salt) or the moreless/lapis alkalizing drink (It's in the link). They provide much needed alkaline minerals which are in short supply thanks to our terrible produce nowadays.
