Profit tops the list as one of the more
obvious root causes. There is speculation
online though there are other agendas or
even circumstances that are contributing
to the media blackout and lack of transparency.
It makes for interesting tidbits to add to
the mental bulletin board waiting to be
pieced together into a bigger picture.
Meanwhile, the immediate needs are to
raise awareness of the dangers of eating
the seafood and coming into contact with
the water. I notice in recent days another
campaign from BP on television aimed at
reassuring folks that BP is not perfect but
has done the best they could to make things
right. The stories online however are a far
cry from the rosy picture BP and the Obama
administration would have us believe. I
tend to believe the people like the ship
captain who is bleeding vaginally and
rectally and who claims she feels like she
is being killed. The spraying has not stopped
either, and if you are out there when they
spray, they are not going out of their way
to avoid spraying those on boats out in
the Gulf night...people, wildlife and the
waters of the Gulf...all being poisoned.
Meanwhile, the chain of command which is
in place to protect our waters and wildlife
and human and marine life has been broken
such that it is difficult to imagine who
can possibly be powerful enough to shine
a light on this ongoing disaster. Seems
most on the Gulf feel ineffectual and,
in effect, castrated by the media and the
Coast Guard. I admire those, like Dr. Ott,
who continue to speak out and try to raise
awareness one youtube at a time, and who
tirelessly work to write and speak about
what is really happening...

Imho, BP has yet to make anything "right".
Time will tell if clarity on some of the
other agendas is forthcoming or if thousands
are simply left to die without notice...
