I've had the Mirena insert for over a year now. I've had all the same symptoms others have had (anxiety, depression, headaches, endless discharge, sore breasts, weight gain), but I've recently started having stress incontinence. It's not terrible and it's not all the time, but I can't figure out how much of this is just what happens when you're in your 40s and have had two vaginal births. I was having urge issues even before I had the IUD inserted, and my gyn told me I needed to lay off the caffeine because I likely had overactive bladder. But lately, even if I go to the bathroom right before I exercise (running and karate are my two forms of physical activity), I always feel like I have to pee. And occasionally, and really unexpectedly, some urine will come out! Ugh. I'm scheduled to have the IUD removed in a week (and I'm fearing the crash), so I guess I'll find out for sure if the device is causing/exacerbating the problem. But I'm wondering if anyone else has had any issues with feeling like they have to pee even if they've just gone, feeling like they're not able to empty completely, or having episodes of stress incontinence (peeing when they jump or run or cough or the like). Thanks! And it's nice to know, btw, that I'm not alone in my Mirena experiences (which was pitched to me like I wouldn't have any side effects other than spotting. Ha.).
