"All truth passes through 3 phases. First it's ridiculed, second, it's violently opposed, thrid, it's accepted as self-evident." Arthur Schopenhauer 1788-1860
One person's limited point of view does not define the world .

"Mira, you are convoluting the entire issue. It's really very simple."
--From your point of view, perhaps. New insights and creative points of view can lead to a paradigm shift in one's way of thinking.
--Rather, my post illustrated quite precisely how words are used as a form of propaganda. As a relative newcomer to this forum, I am perhaps less desensitized to it than those who've been here a long time.
--Truly, I'm simply going back to the real definitions of the words continuously used in arguments to denigrate the other side. I won't post the dictionary definitions here; they can easily be looked up by anyone.

"Either you are FOR another woman besides yourself choosing an Abortion if this is what she chooses (Pro-Choice) or you are AGAINST it (Pro-Life)
If you are in favor of leaving the Choice up to her, of getting an Abortion or having a Baby, then you are Pro-Choice.
If you are totally against Abortions then you are *Pro-Life.""
--My beliefs in this regard are irrelevant; it is what each human chooses that determines both their future and also that of the unborn child.
--Again, I disagree with the use of the terms pro-life and pro-choice in this context. It leads to an us versus them mentality, presupposing confrontation and antagonism. Not everyone who believes in life from conception is a right wing Christian who supports the war (as I have seen written on this forum).
I have no control over the laws and believe that the voting system is corrupt. The heads of state and the very wealthy are the ones holding most of the power in this regard. I may try to convince an individual, as you may also, but I know my limitations. It's a letting go process ... what will be, will be.

"It sounds like you don't want to commit to being any of the above, but my guess is that you are Pro-Life.
This is how the definitions are generally known by the public. I doubt you could just go out there and change them.
No need to be Wishy-Washy ;)
*ProLife, as stated above, which is essentially No-Choice.""
--This is only one individual's judgmental opinion.
--My emotional response to this is that an attempt is being made to box me in and put me into a category so that it can be decided whether I'm a friend or foe, as in wars. A human being has a multitude of thoughts and ideas. They can't be defined and limited to group-think. At least, this one chooses not to be.

If we all had the same opinions, life would be pretty boring. Were it not for great people such as Martin Luther King, Mother Theresa, and Mahatma Ghandi, who thought outside the box and led us to new ways of viewing life, we'd keep plodding along on the same paths as before. Enlightenment can come to us in many ways, shapes, and forms ...
Dialogue is more effective when done using words in a co-operative, non-confrontational, non-judgmental manner. It can open the doors to higher consciousness.
Best wishes,
Mira
