 I also tried adding 3-4 kelp tablets per day...150mcg of iodine per tablet....trying to counter the effects of so many goitrogenic foods.....no effect.

I mentioned cAMP several times in my last post.  I posted on the reason recently:

Iodine is not going to do much if you cannot utilize it properly.
