The Bible is Clear homosexuality is a sin. The real issue is do people who claim to be homosexual acknowledge that is is a sin, and cease in that behavior.

The Bible is clear on this issue

Leviticus 18:22
22 You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.

This was punishable by death under Levitical law

Leviticus 20:13. 13 If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.

Moving to the new testament

1 Corinthians 6:9-10

9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

The author makes a clear distinction between prostitution and homosexual behavior

Romans 1:25-27
25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator-- who is forever praised. Amen.
26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.
27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

Paul's use of the Greek word arsenokoites (pl. arsenokoitai) is one of the most compelling reasons as a conservative Christian to believe in the traditional stand. If Paul is quoting the Levitical prohibitions on same-sex intercourse using his Greek bible (Which he was, because this term is a Greek derivative of the Aramaic in Leviticus) then Paul clearly thought that the Levitical prohibitions (on male-male sex) applied in his day. Plus in 1 Cor 6:9 arsenokoites is listed separately to idolatry, so he is not just thinking of it in a cultic way. In his use of the word arsenokoites he is condemning all male-male intercourse whether it be homosexual or bisexual.

God does not judge us because we experience same-sex attraction. God judges us on what we do with it

I totally support gay Christians who choose celibacy. When it comes to biblical sexua| ethics our bodies are not our own to do as we please.

1Cor 6:18-20 Flee from sexua| immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 20 for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
