My grandma just recently had a stroke. she is so young and her mind is so sharp that it brakes my heart to see her body just giving up because of her hypertension. I know little about this condition, and at this point I feel so overwhelmed about the abundance of information on internet on how to improve CHD, that I am kind of giving up. I do food and supplement experiments with myself, but I am not in any medication nor I have any major health issues. I am desperate to help my grandma improve her health through targeting deficiencies with better supplement/herbs but I am afraid everything I recommend might interfere with her meds and would eventually make matters worse. she just recently had blood work and apparently everything is working fine. My grandma lives in Colombia so blood work there is not as comprehensive as it is in here. She is 75, smokes and is slightly obese, which I know are all risk factors, but other than that she looks like she is still pretty healthy. I feel that what I need is to find better guidance as to how to help her stop smoking and lose weight by using safe herbs and how to strengthen her nervous and circulatory system maybe with tinctures or teas. She is now on Colloidal Silver and DMSO, plus b complex vitamins, chlorella, spirulina, MSM and enzymes. For what I read they all seem safe in moderate amounts, however, I want her to start a better cleansing routine with herbs, but I am afraid of the aforementioned.

Could anyone please recommend a good holistic book about the interaction of herbs and drug I could read to get more familiarized with the topic?. I'd prefer a book who is pro-herbs more that pro-drugs. I have looked on amazon but I a not sure how much I believe in books that cite only articles form government- sponsored studies. I appreciate anyones feedback.

Thanks a bunch.

Fran.
