I think you're correct, beej. He would never have a gay friend because he hates gays. Even though he tries to soften it with the "hate the sin love the sinner" line.

Little does he realize that the term sodomite is an assumption for many gays. I happen to know gays and 2 lesbians who live celibate lives. AND my friends who are gay are christian. Why on earth would they be, when their religion and their bible condemns them to hell? Well it's their choice, not mine.
