i know the hygiene purist don't recommend colonics, but i've fasted both with and without a colonic (enema flush) in the first week of fasting and the colonic made me feel much better *faster* by far.

lets face its, we live in an era of high toxicity and considering what's being off-loaded into our bowels on a fast i've often wondered whether not having an enema just prolongs the suffering. i mean its hard enough as it is without all that sitting in there for weeks. its gotta go somewhere and if you can't sweat it out at the gym...well the process is gonna be slower. so i did some research and bought a cheap enema kit over the net many years ago and haven't spent a dime at a hydro-colonic clinic since. to each to their own.
