Hi, the best advice I can give is to get the sreum within the blisters tested. should it come back as a normal HSV2 strain, this is great news as you can be put onto another aniviral, but should it come back as a resistant strain, this is a whole other kettle of fish.

I have been suffering with the resistant strain for the past 17+ years and I am now at the stage that there is nothing that can be done for me only pain management.

firstly get the test but then get into a natropath and get some natural therepies happening, then look into diets which will boost the immune system, then and I know this is the hardest one of all, reduce your stress level. I know I know easier said than done but do whatever it takes to achieve this.

I have been married for the whole time of me having this rotten virus and I have had two children, no one in my family has ever contracted the virus, which is a blessing but my husband is extremely supportive. I will be honest I am in a different boat than you as the virus itself only attacks myt lef upper thigh and my right lower back/spine but the pain associated with it does put me away for weeks on end.

I hope that the above helps in some way and I wish you all the luck int he world. And just quickly, If the dr you are seeing is not proactive in getting a handle on it, dont hesitate to see someone else. I have seen some drs and specialists and they have not been at all helpful and I have not gone back. You are the one who knows exeactly what it is doing to you and if the dr you are seeing is not supportive of you, then he is not the right one to help you. You have to be proactive, dont take everything they say as gospel.

Good luck and best wishes
