Has anyone been diagnosed with this? If so, what are you taking? How do you alleviate the abdominal pain?

Here's a timeline with what has happened with my husband.

 August 5 - Flu like symptoms lasted a couple of days
 Week later, vomited again at work, minor blood on shirt, but thought it was leftover from a bloody nose he had that morning
 Never felt quite right, we suspected an ulcer. Was going to try and maintain until 9/1 when insurance kicked in.
 August 25, woke up with migraine, blurry vision and dizziness as well as vomiting
 August 26, much of the same
 August 27, Got himself to work but had diarrhea and vomited once at work. Was thinking he had bleeding ulcer, went to ER
 ER did CT scan, gave meds and referred to GI doc.
 September 1, still in a lot of abdominal pain, dizziness, nausea. Extreme fatigue, just wants to sleep. Saw GI doc. During exam the NP read the CT report where it suspected internal hernias. Consulted with the Doctor, doctor recommended he see a surgeon, if they recommended surgery then do that, if not going to set him up for a end and colonoscopy
 Same day saw surgeon, pulled up CT scan, she said that his intestines were twisted and needed to get in there to minimize any further damage
 September 2 had laparoscopic surgery. When she went in the intestines were NOT twisted but severely inflamed giving the image that they were twisted. She took out his appendix (unspoken surgeon rule) and cauterized a varicose vein (potential capillary hemangioma based on his history) Recommended seeing the GI doc for the colonoscopy. Suspected Crohns or inflammatory bowel disease
 September 3 - Didn’t do well after the surgery, suspected bad reaction from the anesthesia. Symptoms worsened.
 Tuesday September 7, went to ER. Stomach pain, nausea and dizziness worse. Wanted him checked out for internal bleeding
 Did CT scan, no evidence found
 Given more meds and referred back to the GI doc
 September 8, saw the surgeon for the follow up after surgery, pulled up the 2nd ER scan, said inflammation looked better and showed us fluid around the liver. Possibly pre-cirrhotic. Said it looked fatty when she was in there, recommended no alcohol and change of diet.
 September 10, saw the NP at the GI doc again. He still very dizzy, nauseated and abdominal pain. Has lost 25lbs. Doesn’t want to eat
 Setup Colonoscopy and Endi and gives us order for blood tests on the liver
 September 15 – had blood work done for the liver workup. Very dizzy
 September 16, had colonoscopy and endi done, aside from minor normal redness and normal internal hemorrhoids, nothing wrong
 Took biopsies throughout, awaiting results
 Recommended MRE and capsule endoscopy
 September 17 – had capsule endoscopy done. Awaiting results
 September 22 – email from doc, has elevated mast cells and the beginnings of celiac disease per the biopsy. Would explain more at our visit on Friday. Tells us to start Gluten free diet and was writing a prescription for Gastrocrom, claritan and Zantac.
 September 24 – met with the Dr’s NP. Says he should start feeling a little better in about 2 weeks, much better in 4 and will be on the medicine 4-6 months
 September 29 - Goes back to work after being off for a month because he’ll lose his job. He’s not 100% so they start him back part time. Starts to feel better. We are trying to go gluten free…it’s a process.
 October 2 – can’t go to work, sever stomach cramping and throws up a little. Hasn’t has a good bowel movement in 24 hours, we suspect that’s the reason
 October 3 – not much better
 Today
 still has blurry vision.
 Fatigue is slightly better but still very tired.
 Stomach still hurts in lower abdomen and feels like glass
 In the past he has eaten a bagel with yogurt spread, no issues. Has tried tuna and peanut butter and has issues, feels sharp pains and feels like he’s digesting glass
 Added history
 2005 had a capillary hemangioma removed from his spine. Caused severe sciatic pain
 2009 had 2 hernias repaired
 Just prior to his first flu like symptoms presenting, he siphoned out our kiddy pool that had some extremely bad water and accidentally swallowed some of the water. Thought he swallowed some sort of insect as he could feel something crawling up his esophagus. Gave him a beer in hopes to kill it.

Well, any experience or knowledge will be helpful.
